Military families tie the knot for free through Weddings for Warriors

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Every couple dreams of that perfect wedding, but for military families, that dream doesn't always become a reality.

The Savannah, GA based Weddings for Warriors project aims to give couples the chance to have that perfect day, free of charge.

Nine years ago, Selena Dotch and her husband wed, but they never got to have the wedding?she wanted?because of his deployments. Thanks to Wedding for Warriors,?she was able to renew her vows the right way.

She said, "Walking down the aisle and seeing his face again. Seeing him saying 'oh my God, this is my wife'?was surreal."

The organization gives active duty military couples weddings and vow renewal ceremonies, free of charge. Executive Director Becky Byous said this is just one way to give back to those who give so much.

"For me personally, and?I always hear from many of the volunteers, you always look for a way to say thank you to the military that's meaningful, it's difficult."

The weddings mean so much to not only the couples, but the entire family.

"Dads have come up to me with tears in their eyes," Byous said.

Dotch said she will forever be grateful to an organization doing so much for the military.
