Here?s a peak at the Rockies? new batting practice cap they?ll be wearing this spring.SCOTTSDALE, ARIZ. ? It?s become a rite of spring. And a way for big league teams to make a few more bucks.
We?re talking about spring training, batting-practice caps. The Rockies have a new one this year, featuring a purple mountain?s majesty, with a baseball sailing through the sky. (No word on which pitcher served up the homer).
All sarcasm aside, the hats, produced by New Era, are kind of cool and a distinct departure from the typical ?CR? that adorns most Rockies caps. Let me know what you think.
Other teams went bold and retro with their BP caps. Mr. Met adorns New York?s cap and old-fashioned Mr. Redlegs is featured on Cincinnati?s cap.
There were whispers that Dinger might be featured on the Rockies BP caps. Thankfully, no.
The hats for all teams are available through MLB.com, at spring training sites next week and at all major retailers beginning in March.
